The Heartsaver CPR Course is a modular comprehensive course for the person who requires a credential (card) documenting successful CPR course completion.  Modules that can be taught are adult CPR only, infant and child CPR only, and adult infant and child CPR.The Heartsaver AED Course was the first in the nation to combine hands-on AED instruction with adult CPR training.  This course is for people who need to learn CPR and how to operate an AED.  A pediatric CPR module can be added at the customer's request.

St. Croix EMS & Rescue strongly encourages businesses and public facilities to establishAED (Automated External Defibrillation) programs to increase the chances of survival for people with heart-related emergencies.AEDprograms allow people tobe better prepared to save the life of a co-worker, friend, family member or stranger. AEDs have helped save many lives, and with a good implementation plan and proper training, you can help save more lives.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires a physician's prescription to buy an AED, and each state has its own training requirements. For example, almost every state requires an individual to complete basic CPR and AED courses from a nationally recognized organization such as the American Heart Association. Many states require a licensed medical professional-- often the medical director of an EMS system or the medical advisor to the workplace --to oversee the program to ensure quality. St. Croix EMS provides that medical advising and is willing to work with all businesses and individuals to provide the lifesaving skill of CPR and AED operation.
